where is that sound coming from?

we were on our way back home from louisiana and clear channel radio station was doing a simulcast on several of there stations in the hurricane ike effected areas .they were having people call in with information such as where you could find ice and food and things like that .and one of the callers told about how verizon wireless was giving customers in the area the month for free .and some woman called in saying how she had a share plan and only was going to get the main line for free .she was going on and on about it and my mom started yelling at the radio .i’m not sure if she was actually yelling at the woman or yelling for my benefit ,which was lacking

anyway it reminded me of the time my girlfriend and i were driving back from getting a movie and listening to the radio .it was interrupted by a public service announcement .something about a mentally unstable woman driving in a ford explorer and being dangerous .i don’t recall the details of that but i recall both myself and my girlfriend leaned in closer to the radio when the announcement came on .after it was over and a minute or so had passed i realized .rather then trying to get to the speaker where the sound was coming .we both tried to hear it from the radio
